This is an 1864 paper engraving of an Emerald brooch, delicately handcut and handpainted, then hand-embellished with 44 green Swarovski crystals.
It is a paper engraving of an emerald brooch designed and executed by Hunt & Roskell, presented by South Wales to H.R.H. Alexandra, Princess of Denmark as a wedding gift in 1863 when she married H.R.H. Albert Edward, Prince of Wales.
The colours used for the handpainting are authentic and are based on its photo in the gift catalogue from the Royal Collection Trust, which can be viewed here (see Plate 33)

This engraving was from an 1864 edition of the Illustrated London News, published in the UK. Hence there is text en verso.
Size of paper brooch: approx. 1.7 inches x 7 inches (4.8 cm x 17.8 cm)
The engraving comes in an archival plastic sleeve. The brooch has also been given a protective coating en verso.
The gift box is hand-collaged with Italian Florentine paper. A work of art, from start to finish.
