Cherry Blossoms at Night. Original Art Collage on Wood Panel
Embellished print of "Cherry Blossoms at Night" by Taikan Yokoyama, printed in Japan in 1937. The artist graduated from the Tokyo Academy of Fine Arts in 1893. This lovely print, which was broken in some parts, has since been put back together on wood panel and hand-embellished with sakura blossoms from (hand-coloured by me) from Japan. The cherry blossoms measure about .5 inch (1.27 cm) across.
As this is made from a salvaged print, there will be faint traces of fold marks, most prominent in the blue sky portion. However, they do not detract from the beauty of the artwork.
All four sides are painted red. The back of the wood panel is covered with Japanese paper with a cherry blossom pattern. This artwork is ready to hang.
Materials: recycled paper ephemera, adhesive, paper blossoms, wood
