Japanese Lady in Kimono Glass Pendant - Square 1958 Postage Stamp Pendant
A square glass pendant with a genuine 1958 Japanese postage stamp (Sc# 646) of a woodcut showing a woman in kimono, carrying a yellow umbrella. The reverse of the pendant is covered with an 1874 German engraving, lacquered for protection.
The pendant comes in a collaged keepsake box with a pearlized print (printed in Japan) of a woman in kimono. A small gift card is included. All sides of the exterior are covered with chiyogami paper and the box interior is artfully covered with delightful 1950s images from a Japanese magazine. It is a box you or the recipient will always treasure. This is a work of art from start to finish.
Only 925 sterling silver sterling silver hardware was used in the making of this pendant. Please note: this listing is for the pendant only. The sterling silver chain is sold separately.
Glass size: approx. 1 inch (2.54 cm) square
Box size: 3 inches (7.62 cm) square
Please note:
The glass used was not made in-house. The glass may have slight imperfections, but they do not detract from the overall beauty and craftsmanship of the pendant. The pendant-making process did not involve any soldering for the sterling silver hardware.
